Program Admission
The field of industrial-organizational psychology is centered on understanding work from a psychological perspective. Through the program, students are trained in I-O psychology theories and research methods, studying application in work settings such as industry and government. Students develop expertise in a variety of areas, including personnel assessment and selection, training and development, performance appraisal, motivation, team performance and leadership.
Admission to the MSIO Program is competitive and selective. Applicants who are admitted typically have a GPA of 3.0 or above. A variety of factors are taken into account in MSIO admissions, including all submitted materials and the number of available openings in the program.

*Note: We have removed the GRE requirement effective for Fall 2024 applications. You may still see it mentioned in the Graduate Bulletin, but it is no longer required.
General admissions timeline:
We only admit new students in Fall semesters. The priority deadline for applications is April 15th. We begin reviewing applicants at this time and continue to review all completed applications until the cohort fills. Late applications are accepted, but run the risk of having to defer a year if the cohort has filled.
